Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Carbon Footprinting Standard

The founding project of the coalition was to develop a greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting guidance document for the pharmaceutical and medical device sector. This research was initiated from the GHG appraisal of the NHS that identified pharmaceuticals and medical devices contributing over 25% to the total NHS carbon footprint. The purpose of this guidance is to enable more consistent and practical carbon footprint assessments of healthcare products to be undertaken.
