Joint Statement to the UN Climate Summit

Some of the members of the Sustainable Healthcare Coalition (then called the Coalition for Sustainable Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices (CSPM)) submitted a Joint Statement to the UN Climate Summit held in New York on 23rd September 2014; a pivotal meeting on the road to the world agreeing the Paris Agreement to control global man-made climate change. The Submission was made by AstraZeneca, Baxter, Covidien, GSK, Johnson and Johnson and Novo Nordisk and included a series of specific commitments out to 2020.

At the time, the UNDP comments that “The statement will be a valuable contribution to the Climate and Health process; it is particularly encouraging to see clear commitments being made, and that the group is open for like-minded and committed parties to join!”

The original Joint Statement and a new report, summarising progress made since the commitments were made and highlighting what more we are doing, are available here.
