Prioritising High Greenhouse Gas Intensive Pharmaceuticals

Members of the coalition contributed to the investigation to identify the high GHG intensive pharmaceuticals prescribed within the NHS in England.  Prescription data including volume and expenditure was combined with estimates of pharmaceutical GHG intensity to identify a list of 20 priority pharmaceuticals for further research.  This list is being used to guide discussions with manufacturers to improve sustainability data and reduce the environmental impact of listed pharmaceuticals.
